PlayTherapy

PlayTherapy is a vital component of family health which evaluates and diagnosis developmental delays or autism. Psychologists working with children and adolescents help identify challenging behaviours early and help detect the root causes of behavioural difficulties such as hyperactivity, or anxiety, and help children work through early childhood trauma.

Music Therapy

Music therapy helps the mind and body work together. They provide support for individuals with disabilities and promote wellness and personal growth and creativity. Music therapy helps enhance memory, improves communication and self –expression, anxiety reduction and increases cognitive and physical rehabilitation.

Occupational Therapy

For children with special needs Occupational Therapy can play an important role in assisting children to develop their fine and gross motor skills and motor planning. Occupational Therapy helps children do things they struggle with such as: buttoning trousers and zipping coats to writing and typing. It helps children with their motor skills which can improve their self-esteem, independence and sense of accomplishment.

The Miranda Fund

The Miranda Fund, under the umbrella of the Dancing Queen Foundation, was set up in loving memory of Miranda-Marina who due to complications at delivery was left severely brain-damaged and labeled Cerebral Palsy. Miranda passed away in 2012 at the age of 4. Miranda was a child, who although never learned to speak or walk, had eyes that spoke a thousand languages. It was through her eyes that she learned to express herself.

The Miranda Fund has provided assistance to children with physical disabilities such as occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy.
From 2009 till 2020 €96,444.00 was donated to finance physical therapies. Additionally, six tetraplegic wheelchairs were bought by the foundation and donated to the Alma Child Development Center.
